What Happens to Your Body When You PRAY!
Prayer can do so much for the health and wealth of our bodies. I will not go into spirituality. I will not go into religion. I will only go into the physiology of what prayer can do for our bodies.
There’s no doubt that prayer is rooted in the belief that there is a power greater than oneself that can influence one’s life, and prayer does not only have to be given to a higher power. It could be given to someone else.
There are many different forms of prayers, from spoken prayers to silent prayers to prayers in the mind, which may be directed toward specific or non-specific things.
It can be given to the Creator above. It doesn’t matter. What matters is that our body does so many beautiful things when it comes to prayer, and along with all forms of complementary medicine, there’s no doubt that prayer is definitely up on the top.
I will not tell you that you should pray as a substitute for getting complementary medicine, but over 90 percent of the world will pray to some degree when their life is in crisis.
It’s a way of hoping for healing. For Peace, pain management, a better quality of life, and the production of brain hormones called endorphins and encephalon.
Are chemicals the body produces are 100 to 200 times more potent than morphine, and the physiological effects of prayer play a tremendous role with these natural painkillers in our body. Prayer will lower your stress level and your stress hormones; we don’t have those cytokines.
Cytokines cause our bodies to become more inflamed. When our body thins off inflammation, homeostasis balancing within your internal system will heal much more rapidly.
Your immune system is better equipped to fight diseases. Our respiratory rate goes down, our blood pressure goes down our parasympathetic nervous system increases, giving us that rest and digestion science also recognizes the benefit of prayer.
Meditation has been proven to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression and promote emotional health.
While prayer also reduces Stress and Anxiety, many studies say it will help you live longer.
The bottom line
I said from the beginning this is not about religion or spirituality. This is about the physiology of the human body and how we can heal to live a longer and healthier life.
